At Cambridge House Grammar School all pupils study Music in Years 8 to 10 under the remit of Performing Arts. You can then decide if you would like to study Music at GCSE. For this course you need to be a competent performer. You will also compose your own pieces and learn about different musical genres. If you wish you can continue to study Music at AS and A level, perhaps then to follow in the footsteps of many former pupils who have studied Music at University and taken up Music as a career.
We have a range of instrumental tuition available on a weekly basis. We currently offer: Brass Tuition; Violin/Viola Tuition; Clarinet and Saxophone Tuition, Flute Tuition, Piano Tuition, Drum Tuition and Guitar Tuition. If your son or daughter is interested in taking lessons in Cambridge House Grammar School please contact Mrs Brush for the relevant information.
We have a very active music department with many extra-curricular activities. We have a Junior Choir, Senior Choir, Chamber Choir, Cambridge Strings, Band, Brass Group and Jazz Group. We also have a Glee Club that encourages the development of Performing Arts in our school. Our school production of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ took place in October. We encourage our students to be involved in these extra-curricular activities in order to further develop performance, social, time keeping and many other life skills.
