On Wednesday 15th June 2017 Year 11 Home Economics students travelled to Loughry College in Cookstown to take part in the ‘Feed Your Mind’ event. The day proved to be thoroughly enjoyable. The students got the opportunity to participate in practical demonstrations including cheese making, chocolate and bread manufacture, meat and packaging technology, nutrition awareness, taste testing, food provenance and human respiration.
The inclusion of a careers talk also proved to be invaluable in providing an insight into the range of career opportunities available within the food industry.
