Rugby Development Group

The Rugby Development Group (RDG) is a school support group which includes rugby coaches, teachers and parents who work together to support rugby development at Cambridge House. RDG support activities include:

  • Raising profile of rugby in school
  • Building relationships with other school parents
  • Year 8 induction support
  • Organising fundraisers and social events
  • BBQ and Family Fun Night at start of school year
  • Pitch-side sponsorship and Publicity
  • Tea & Coffee pitch-side for home matches

CHGS Rugby Facebook Group - Join this private group managed by Mr Nicholl (Head of Rugby) for regular updates from the Coaches on fixtures and other rugby development activities.

New Pitch-side Unit “Official opening - date still to be arranged. More work still to complete to improve facilities and kit out but hope all agree great to have some shelter for catering and Tuck Shop at home matches.

BIG THANK YOU from RDG to Adrian Lowry for much-needed contribution of rubber matting at the Pitch-side Mobile Unit.

Many thanks to all parents, players and friends who supported the RDG Table Quiz at Ballymena Rugby Club on 27th January and special thanks to Alan McCandless for being an excellent Quiz Master as always! Thanks also to RDG parents for support to run event and contributions of raffle prizes and sandwiches for supper.

Next RDG event will be SPRING FAIR at school Saturday 4th March from 10.30am to 1.30pm – great range of craft stalls, some great raffle prizes and also Sports Challenges in the PE hall.

Parent and friend support for home matches much appreciated by coaches and players.

Same route around school grounds as last year and open to runners of all ages and abilities – date in June to follow
