Hockey v Limavady

Jessica Small 5th October 2016

On Saturday 1st October Cambridge House 1st X1 played their fourth match in the Ulster Super League, away, against Limavady Grammar School.

The Cambridge House girls were anticipating a tough game and played with high intensity from the first whistle. Solid passing and impressive stick work as usual from midfield and forward players (Emily Anderson, Vicki Winter, Adeleine Carey and Lois Carey) found the girls in the opposition circle for prolonged periods. Unfortunately however, the ball never managed to enter the Limavady goal and after a frustrating first half, the score remained 0-0.

Both teams came out in the second half in fighting spirit, determined to score. After several penalty corners to Limavady, the CHGS girls were ‘fired up’ and fought hard to finally score thanks to Adeleine Carey.  Limavady did not give up and continued to pressurise to the very end but an outstanding performance from Chloe Farquhar and the rest of the defence, ensured the team held on to their lead and secured their place in the Tier B semi-final of the Ulster Schools Super League on Saturday 12 November 2016.
