Travel Monitors
CHGS has in place Travel Monitors.  These students wear Monitor Badges: Yellow, Red, Blue, Green.  As part of the pastoral care support system within the school, Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form students undertake the role of Travel Monitor which will involve supporting younger students on their journeys to and from school as well as liaising with staff to ensure that they are quickly made aware of difficulties relating to school travel.
This role requires:
  • assistance with supervision regarding shuttle bus arrangements
  • assistance with supervision to and from school
  • attendance to any student in distress at any time
  • notice on any incidents of confrontation and reporting them to staff
  • awareness of safety issues: road safety, bus journeys and at the bus station
  • active responsibility for the safety of others (school and community)
  • clear display of badges: Year 11 Blue, Year 12 Green, Year 13 Yellow, Year 14 Red
All Travel Monitors receive Child Protection and Pastoral Care Training annually from Mrs Lutton and a Certificate is issued.
