CAMBRIDGE HOUSE GRAMMAR SCHOOL
Sunday Life School Stars School Stars auditions took place in September with rehearsals taking place on Tuesdays after school. The school heat took place on Thursday, 18th November in Assembly Hall 2. Students were given the opportunity to showcase their talent for friends and family. There were an amazing 12 acts displaying a wide range of musical styles, it was evident that the audience would have a hard task voting for their top two. When JW Promotions arrived for our sound check there were a lot of nervous and excited performers who all wanted that chance to perform in the final. After the press came and took photographs of all the acts, all the performers were gathered in the Green Room for their final pep talk. It was 8 o’clock and the show was under way. Many acts shone but it was Lauren Hannan accompanied by Charlotte McClean on keyboard and Sarah McIntosh on drums who won the audience over with ‘Dog Days’ by Florence and the Machine. Second place went to Beth Scott who sang the beautiful ballad ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Adele. Nicole Kell and her dancers (Amy Graham, Megan Graham, Nicola Montgomery, Kirsty McClintock and Jonny Spiers) were awarded a well deserved third place. The top three acts will be performing again at the Annual Spring Concert in the Braid Arts Centre on Monday, 11th April. Lauren Hannan, Charlotte McClean and Sarah McIntosh will represent Cambridge House at the Grand Final of School Stars on Saturday, 28th May in the Ulster Hall, Belfast. T. Martin
