ICT (Information and Communication Technology)

The aim of the ICT department is to ensure that students gain life-long skills as independent learners and competent users of ICT.  As well as teaching ICT discretely as an academic subject right from year 8, pupils get the opportunity to transfer these skills into other subject areas where ICT is also a vital part of teaching.

After Key Stage 3, students may choose to continue study of ICT at GCSE and A level.  Many students, who complete ICT at A level, continue to study ICT as a degree at university or a related discipline such as Computer Science, Gaming Software Development or Web Design.  ICT is an exciting subject and continues to be a growth industry in Northern Ireland, even during the current recession.
