French

Studying French at Cambridge House Grammar School means the chance to work with teachers who are language specialists and who have studied or worked in France for an extended period of time.

We are lucky to have French Assistant who works primarily with A-Level and GCSE students. The assistant visits KS3 classes where possible to deliver cultural and seasonal activities.  We regularly organise opportunities for students to practise their spoken French.  We have had very successful trips and exchanges to Paris and Bundoran, County Donegal through the Languages and Adventure Programme.

We have opportunities for AS Level students to work with our Modern Language staff through our work experience programme of team-teaching.  Years 13 and 14 are able to attend  French immersion days at The Queens’ University of Belfast.  We encourage A Level students to extend and support their own learning by providing support and extension materials currently available on the Kerboodle package which pupils can access from home.
