10  Special Educational Needs

The school has a Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), Dr Winder, and she will set in place any special requirements for individuals, groups or classes.  These are wide ranging and tailored to meet the needs of individuals, groups or classes as and when they arise.  The school operates a range of support mechanisms including IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and Care Plans.  Full details are available from Dr Winder.

Parents may obtain a copy of the Special Needs Policy by contacting the School Office and requesting a copy.  A copy is also placed on the school’s website www.cambridgehouse.org.uk

11   Homework

The school operates a Homework Policy.  A copy of this policy is available on request.  All queries regarding Homework should be directed to the Head of that subject Department, Head of Key Stage or Vice Principal (Curriculum).  Pupils are set into Form Classes which are pastoral friendships groupings and will be under the guidance and supervision of a Form Teacher.  Pupils are also set into academic groups for both core subjects and practical sets.  These are partially streamed for some subjects and may be realigned following post examination review and target setting procedures have been undertaken.  All decisions will be made in consultation with the parents/guardians with the school reserving the right to make the professional decision based on tracking and performance evidence.
